You won’t remember today if your thinking about tomorrow.

So many places to travel!

Basejumping in Norway? Amazing! Background music in this clip? Not so much.

Gotta love it when scripture jumps off of the pages and matches the state of your heart. PSALM 38

This is the separation of head and heart.

I can think it but not believe it. I can know it but not feel it.

What connects my heart and head?

This separation is caused by a lack of desperation.

If we think that we have no need than why would we surrender our dreams?

It’s only logical right? If we know what is best than whats the point of giving up our freedom?

I have fine tuned my ability to control the environment around me.

Yet, there seems to be a disconnect somewhere.

There is no fulfillment. No joy. My dreams seem empty.

This brings me habitually back to a place of brokenness.

The old me is dead but its memories tug at me.

Worthless. Inadequate. Weak. Invisible.

These names are not mine.

In desperation I cry out for a new name.

My Father speaks:

Come away with me, Come away with me

It’s never too late, it’s not too late
It’s not too late for you

I have a plan for you
I have a plan for you
It’s gonna be wild
It’s gonna be great
It’s gonna be full of me.

Open up your heart and let me in.” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZoOfGiqZ7Y)

I am Son. I am Chosen. I am Beloved.

The more I know who I am the more I realize how closely intertwined my heart is with his.

My fathers dreams become mine.

This is the connection of head and heart.

Each day is its own. Other days do not deserve its attention. It takes on its own shape and form. It brings adventure, risk, fear, and every other emotion known to man. But above all of these other things, this day has a purpose. A meanings so deep and real that we have difficulty grasping it. So therefore we forget about it and drudge on believing that every day is the same. Every. Day. Is. The. Same. We get so sick of this lukewarm living that we cry out to God to bring some form of joy into our days. Our repititous, drudge filled days. This cry is met with a very raw and real truth. Joy is right in front of us. HE is moving and shaking this world everywhere around us. The challenge has been issued from His words. I want to live tomorrow for everything that it is worth. I have a quote that has been on my cork board for a while now but I havn’t looked at it in a while. Until tonight,

“This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What id do today is important because I’m exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be for gain, not loss; good, not evil; success, not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it. May I have sufficient wisdom and courage that this shall be my record for today.”

I was stumbling through some pictures online when I came to this one. I looked at it in passing before what was on the screen registered with me. This man was crippled. Broken and in a position many would consider hopeless. Immediately my heart was stirred with compassion for this man. What was this man’s life like? I can imagine how bitterness and hatred must have played on his mind and heart. I could hear peoples thoughts about him, “He is a cripple, he will never amount to anything”, “He has no future”, “He is worthless.” It was then that realized what he was sitting before. He was alone, beholding the most beautiful sunset. He was alone, sitting in expectation. Expectation for his FUTURE. I know without a doubt that if I could see his face he would be joyfully smiling. Despite his brokenness and hurt, He knew the Lords plans for him. He was imagining the day when he would see his Restorer face to face. He waits on the Lord alone for his love and truth. My heart and hands were shaking while writing this. Its amazing how we can learn through pictures!
Some lines from a Phil Wickham song display this beautifully:
I see Your face in every sunriseThe colors of the morning are inside Your eyesThe world awakens in the light of the dayI look up to the sky and say Youre beautiful
When we arrive at eternity’s shoreWhere death is just a memory and tears are no moreWell enter in as the wedding bells ring Your bride will come together and well singYoure beautiful, You’re beautiful, You’re beautiful
